Summary

There are 3 different methods to create a topic in FlexWiki:

  1. Enter a topic name in the TopicBar
  2. Put a topic name as a text on an existing topic and then click the link for the new topic name
  3. Enter a URL in the browser navigation textbox

Use the TopicBar

The TopicBar is the region of text where the Title of this topic is found. On this topic it is where you see the words "Create Topic" in large text. Click the mouse in this region and the title of the current topic will disappear and you can type in the title of the page you wish to create. While you can use spaces in the name of the topic, this is not recommended as a best practice. FlexWiki will automatically add a space in the name where appropriate when displaying the title.

Click a Link

This assumes you know how to edit a topic and place a PascalCase topic name into the text of a topic. When this topic has been saved the link will be displayed as below

sample text with a link to a new topic called TestTopic (to be created)

All that is necessary to get to the edit page to create the topic is to click the link.

Enter a URL

As an example (please do not do this with The exact example - otherwise this would behave differently)

 http://www.flexwiki.com/WikiEdit.aspx?topic=FlexWiki.CreateNewTopic

if this is entered in the browser navigation textbox, the browser will open the editor for FlexWiki with a default text and a notice that you are about to create a new topic and the name of the new topic. This notice is at the right side of the browser and is with a red background. When the user clicks the save button, providing any necessary captcha is correct, the text will be saved as the topic with the name provided.
